About Me
Get to know me as I get to know you
A little of my background before I learn about yours. I was born in Zimbabwe, raised in Canada, and attended high school and university in England. Moving around taught me how important community is, as well as the strength of a family unit be it blood or chosen family. I have also extensively travelled through North and South America, Europe, Australia, and South East Asia. I am fascinated by culture, food, and family dynamics. My traveling experiences and life pathway has given me valuable insights of the world through connection. I apply all I know to better help my clients see the value in their personal growth, experiences, and future selves.
I believe in providing an open and supportive environment for my clients to explore their feelings and find their own solutions. If you would like to get to know me better or learn more about how I can help you, please don't hesitate to reach out. I look forward to hearing from you!
This lead me to becoming...
A registered Psychotherapist with CRPO. I have over 15 years of experience working as a clinical therapist with addictions, mental health, and trauma. Vulnerability is the first step to healing. When we are able to be vulnerable with ourselves, we are able to open up. I want your messy self to show up and feel safe in your own space alongside me. I am a student of the Satir Family System's model and help the whole family grow alongside one another. I love the challenge of helping the client heal and being part of the process. My goal is to help clients associate self-responsibility with success. My cognitive and somatic work can help clients work through trauma and develop a greater sense of harmony and inner peace. I am a firm believer in therapy being client-driven and action orientated.
I specialize in adolescent behavior, and the maturity model for emerging adults, I am also strong in connection to my clients and will show up for you and challenge distorted or retired thoughts. I like to bring in experiential exercises to keep it fresh and engaging. I am also virtual EMDR trained. EMDR uses the whole body approach to healing.
I serve my clients through the video conferencing platform Zoom. The transition from chaos to connection begins with a feeling of safety and security. I believe in a relationship between therapist and client that can tolerate mess and still have a safe container to be in.
